Did you know that even if you use a make up remover, most of the time it is not going to remove all your makeup? Or sometimes it can probably irritate your skin or eyes especially when they are sensitive.

A lot of people who have acne-prone and sensitive skin types ask me why their makeup remover is not working and/or causing them more skin problems. The answer is simple: most commercial makeup removers are made with synthetic chemicals that are not good for your skin.

In this post, I am going to share with you some natural ways to remove your makeup without using any harsh chemicals.

Oil cleansing method: The first way is the one I recommend to everyone. It is the most affordable one and has no side effects on your skin at all. This method is especially recommended for people with acne-prone skin types because it dissolves the makeup without irritating your skin.

To do this, you need a few drops of olive or almond oil (or any other natural oil like grape seed oil or castor oil). Rub the oils all over your face and massage for about a minute. Then wet two cotton pads with warm water and place them on your eyes for 20 seconds before wiping off your entire face.

This is my favourite way to remove make up because it does not irritate my skin plus you can find everything in your kitchen.

Makeup wipes: If you are travelling and don’t want to bring any oil with you, a quick and easy way to remove your makeup is by using makeup wipes. I would not recommend this method for people with acne-prone skin types because most of the time the wipes are made with harsh chemicals that can irritate your skin. However, if you have an acne-free skin, then go ahead and try makeup wipes because they are very convenient to carry around your bag.

To make this method better, I suggest using wipes that are made with natural ingredients like organic lotions or aloe vera juice. You can also make your own at home by using coffee filters or old towels.

Facial cleansing brush: The third way to remove your makeup is by using a facial cleansing brush. I don’t recommend this method to people with acne-prone skin because the bristles on the brush can cause more breakouts. However, if you have an oily skin type then a facial cleansing brush can be helpful in removing the excess oil on your skin.

To use a facial cleansing brush, you need to wet your face and then apply a small amount of your regular facial cleanser to the bristles of the brush. Gently massage your entire face for one minute and then rinse off with warm water.

So there you have it! Three easy and natural ways to remove your makeup without using any harsh chemicals. If you have a skin type that is not mentioned in this post, feel free to experiment with the different methods and see which one works best for you.
